    Flickr user ignutzz posted a step by step slideshow demonstrating how she updated some vintage food canisters. It’s a simple and inspiring DIY project to give your kitchen a retro touch. They’re gorgeous and encourage shopping in the bulk items bin; therefore I heart. Her mixer’s eye candy too.

  • Everything’s hunky dory again. I think.

    I’m a complete Wordpress neophyte, so apologies for the down time. I’m still not especially sure why the site suddenly started having a database error, but let’s just hope it doesn’t happen again. I had to start all over again, so I reposted all the previous entries. Thanks for hanging in there.

    Plan 59 is perhaps the best source for vintage ads. Their vast collection of gorgeous scans can’t be beat. I’m especially fond of their demonic tots and deeply disturbing cuisine section, full of creepy kids who are pushed to the limits of excitement over baked ham and cans of pork and beans.
