Land of the Giants

Land of the Giants was an hour long 1960′s Sci Fi series that attempted to prove that using mattes to make everyday objects tower above your main characters makes for quality television. The series was devised by Irwin Allen, who structured it along the same lines as his hit, Lost in Space. It takes place in the distant future (1983) where space travel is common. Unfortunately for the travelers on the Spindrift their craft hits a wormhole and they end up in a crazy land where everything is super big. It’s Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but with 1968 style effects. These were expensive effects. At $250,000 an episode it set a record for the time.

The show has gotten itself a bit of a cult fan base, a group of folks passionate enough about the series that the distributors decided it was worthwhile to put together this insane collectible box set that includes trading cards, a comic book, key chain, and a crew patch you can stick on your clothes and totally out obscure reference your friends!
