The Knickerbockers: Imitation Beatles
New Jersey band The Knickerbockers had a hit in 1965 with “Lies.”
I’m guessing the song was a hit because if you heard it on the radio you probably would have guessed it was the latest from The Beatles. The lead singer’s John Lennon voice impression is spot on. To this day, people often mistakenly label this a lost Beatles track.
