Music for your 8mm home movies

Super 8 is to this day my favorite looking film format. These movies look fabulous, but never have a soundtrack. What’s the perfect way to drown at the clicking of the projector? “Music for” records were sold in the 50s and 60s to be played over your home movies. If you want to instantly turn your family footage into a 1950s educational film, one only needs to pick one of these babies up.  WFMU’s Beware of the Blog digitized one of them and you can listen to the wonderful mp3s on their site.

    Fantastic!

I think I might use the piece “music for majestic scenes” every time I enter a room.

    Perhaps not.
